Publishing Your Passion
Presented by Ellen McVicker, author of Butterfly Kisses and Wishes on Wings.
She retired from teaching to finish what she believed to be an important book for kids.
Now she returns to schools to share the experience and her new book.
She will bring her years of teaching experience to your school as she shares her thoughts on:
- developing a passion for writing
- working through the writing process
- recognizing one's own ability to help others through obstacles in their life.
Ellen will also share:
- the story of the creation of her book
- the plan she used to write the book
- the many drafts from her revisions - first draft to publishing book (including the galleys and story boards)
- the website she has created in conjunction with her book
Concluding her visit, Ellen will inspire her audience to write to her (creating an authentic writing piece) and share one or all of the following:
- what passion they would love to publish
- what they gained from Ellen's experience with the writing process
- how they feel empowered to help others through illness or other life obstacles.
